16-4-1945 at Nagpur,Fr. Jeremie  SERVAGE, from Excenevex, Savoy. Diocesan Priest of Annecy, for 9 years teacher at the diocesan College of La Roche, joined the MSFS at the age of 34 came to India in 1893. Teacher SFS Nagpur,  1894,  Khandwa  1899, Parish  Priest Nagpur 1901-03,  Jabalpur,  Khandwa  1905,  Harda  1914,  Amravati 1915-18. Pachmarhi 1920, Chhindwara 1921-33, retired inNagpur. 89 years old

16-6-1945 at Nagpur, Fr. Georges DAVIET, from  Mures, Savoy.Came to Nagpur in 1904.Missionary at Aulia 1907-34,then Assistant at Nagpur parish.Hindi Scholar,66 years old

23-12-1945 at Nagpur,Fr. Jean EXARTIER, from Villargondran, Maurienne,Came to  India 1900.Chaplain Chikalda 1903,Badnera1904-12,Thana 1912-14.Went back to France for the War 1914-18. Amravati 1919-30, Dongargarh 1930-45.72 years old

  7-5-1946  at Kamptee,Fr.Pierre PROBST, from Rouffach,Alsace, France.Teacher SFS Nagpur, Choir Master. Railway chaplain at Harda 1905-32 and at Amla where he built the church and presbytery 71 years old

10-8-1946  at Nagpur,Fr. Carlo  C. FERNANDES, from Calangute, Goa.Teacher SFS Nagpur 1905.Principal SFS 1914-19.Teacher & Headmaster St. Aloysius’ School, Jabalpur 1920-29, Manager SFS Press 1934.Editor of “The Salesian”.73 years old  

Fr. GUERIN JACQUIER

(1867 - 1947)

20-5-1947 at Ghogargaon,Fr.Guerin JACQUIER, fromBernex, Savoy.Diocesan Priest, curate at Marboz (Belley),Novitiate 1894. Arrived India 1895, Teacher SFS Nagpur.Pastoral training at Sangamner under Fr.Weishaupt,S.J. July-November 1896.Pioneer in Ghogargaon 1896-1912, Borsar 1912-15.Lent to the diocese of Poona during the War, Rahata mission 1915-22. Went back to Ghogargaon where he remained till his death. Built with great worries a fine Church blessed in 1927. Nicknamed “the great Mogul”.A zealous and hard working missionary.80 years old  

Fr. HERBERT SHECHAN

(1872 - 1947)

13-9-1947 at Nagpur, Bro. Herbert SHEEHAN,born at Mhow in 1872, lost both his parents as a baby, brought up by the Mission.He made his temporary vows as a MSFS, started his seminary  studies, remained as a lay-worker.75 years old  

Fr. JEAN CROCHET

(1868 - 1948)

19-1-1948  at Chhindwara, Fr. Jean Marie CROCHET from Chilly, Savoy.Came  to  India in 1890, at the  age  of  22, completed  his Theology  in Nagpur, ordained  1891  by Bishop Riccaz.He joined the Mission as a diocesan priest.Teacher SFS Nagpur.From  1900  to  1912. Chaplain ofBilaspur,Aurangabad,Nagpur(1905-07),Jabalpur. Chaplain of Bilaspur  1912-30, where he  enlarged  the church and  obtained  a  presbytery. Chancellor of the diocese, wrote  historical notes on  the  stations  of the diocese, Chaplain  of  Pachmarhi 1931-45.Retired  in Chhind...

Fr. ALBINO FERNANDES

(1864 - 1950)

17-3-1950 at Nagpur,Fr. Albino FERNANDES, from Aldona, Goa.The first Goan priest to join the Nagpur Mission in 1888.Teacher & Principal 1900 St. Aloysius’ School, Jabalpur.Teacher, Prefect of discipline and Band master SFS School Nagpur.Railway Chaplain very popular on the Line, built a chapel & residence at Murtizapur, chapels at Badnera &  Balharshah. He was chaplain of Aurangabad 1910-12.  He brought many Goan candidatesto the Apostolic School. 87 years old

Fr. BP. LOUIS GAYET

(1885 - 1950)

26-8-1950, at Ville-la Grand,  Savoy,Mgr. Louis  Francis GAYET, from la Chapelle Blanche, Chambery.Came to India at the age of 18, studied  in St.  Charles Seminary,Priest Nagpur 8-11-1908. Missionary  in Thana  1908-11, Kapustalni 1911-13, Achalpur 1913-32, Amravati 1932 where he  started  a  new  mission  centre.Zealous missionary, translated religious books into Marathi.Bishop of Nagpur 1934-50.Took great interest in the foundation of the Bhaginis, Salesian Sisters.Died during his first visit to Europe of cancerof the liver.65 years old  

Fr. ERNEST THEVENET

(1874 - 1951)

20-12-1951 at Chikalda,Fr. Ernest THEVENET, from Clermont, Savoy.Came to India 1892.Seminary  atGopalpore.Priest 1897.Transferred to Nagpur because of his health. Assistant in  Ghogargaon  1898. Missionary  at Chikalda 1899-1903. Achalpur 1903-08, Amravati 1912-15, Chikalda 1915-51. Founded the Kapustalni Mission in 1902.Pioneer of the Berar Missions.In Chikalda built up the.77 years old
